Japanese Shincha Loose Green Tea

Green Tea

Shincha is the first harvest of Japanese sencha green tea and ours was harvested at the end of April 2023. Shin means new and cha means tea. This new tea is extremely fresh, sweet, and has a rich, concentrated flavor. The beautiful, bright green leaves produce a tea with a smooth, silky taste—no wonder Shincha green tea is highly sought after. Once it's sold out, it's really gone. And there won't be more of this super-fresh tea available until next year.
Green Tea
1.7 oz/50g
1. Bring 1 1/2 cup (360 ml) of water to a boil.
2. Place 1 Tbsp of tea leaves into the teapot.
3. Add hot water and steep for 1-3 minutes at 158-176 degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Pour tea into the cup(s) with a gentle rocking motion to allow the water to massage the leaves, slowly extracting the flavor.

Excellent green and roasted rice tea

I found the Yamamotoyama green tea with roasted rice in tea bags (genmai-cha) at the local coop. Bought more from the website. When I went to renew my order I didn't find it and opted to buy the Shincha Loose tea. I like it better. I seems to have a more prounced flavor and is a little sweeter. I like it better.

Worth the price.

A small amount makes a satisfying mug of tea. Very green tasting and fresh. Brews a pleasant color.
